Wild Eye Webinars – Week #4 and #5

At Wild Eye our goal is to change the way you see the world and now we still super excited about our new online webinars which we kicked off on the 29th of April.

If you are anything like our guides, and longing for African adventure, you’ve probably been scrolling through your image archives reminiscing about the amazing time’s you’ve had on safari. Given that we are not able to travel during these uncertain times and experience these incredible destinations with you, our team have launched a series of brand new and exciting Premium Webinars which will see us taking the learning and teaching that we are known for in the field, online.

Each in-depth Premium Webinar presentation, of varying lengths depending on the topic at hand, is followed by a 30 minute interactive Q&A session. Space is limited to only 50 attendees per event, and, as a newsletter subscriber, we want to offer you priority in signing up for these paid premium webinars whilst space is available.

Not only would you be exposed to a bunch of really useful wildlife photography and post processing techniques, we’d have some fun in the process!

The Premium Webinars are hosted via Zoom with attendees receiving a personalised link to the event upon booking and completing payment via PayPal. Whilst we would suggest downloading and installing the Zoom application, it is possible to view and participate without doing so.

Creating Visual Mass in Your Wildlife Images

Host:  Johan van Zyl
Date: Wednesday 3 June 2020
Time: 19:00 to 21:00 CAT
Max Guests: 50

There are many technical aspects when it comes to wildlife photography, but one of the aspects that most people struggle with the most is the creative side.

Have you ever wondered what it is that attracts your eye to a particular image? What makes an image stand out from the rest? The majority of the time it is not the technical aspects, but more the way you place your subject in your frame and the visual mass that is present in your image that makes people appreciate your image.

In this premium Wild Eye webinar Johan Van Zyl will cover the topic of visual mass in detail, from what attracts your viewers eyes in your frame and what pushes it away, as well as the placement of your subject in your frame by using the rule of thirds. The combination of these factors will help you tell more of a story in your images, and will also assist in looking for potential distractions in your frame.

In this webinar Johan will teach you:

– What visual mass is
– What draws your viewers eyes and what pushes it away
– Using the rule of thirds to create more striking images
– Looking for possible distracting elements in your frame
– Editing images in Lightroom, enhancing the visual mass

Whether you are a beginner of an experienced photographer, this webinar will give you fresh ideas on how you can get the most out of your wildlife images.

After the webinar you will receive a recording of the entire webinar, as well as the PDF document of the presentation which you can keep with you to refer back to certain points.
