After a quality morning session we will transfer to Campo Grandé in preperation for our flight to Cuiaba. We’ll enjoy lunch along the way.

The flight departs in the evening and after landing we’ll transfer to our hotel and overnight.

  6. Day 6 Travel Day: Cuiaba to Piuval Lodge

This lodge used to be an old ranch and will bring some great game viewing & photographic opportunities such as hyacinth macaws on their nests, caimans very close to the boats and innumerous species of birds around, most notably water birds.

We also arrange for Pantaneiro Cowboys to display for us what they do, a great cultural photographic experience.

  7. Day 7 Travel Day: Piuval Lodge to Hotel Pantanal Norté, Porto Jofre

After a hearty breakfast we will tranfer to Porto Jofre Hotel. This day we will spent all day crossing the 145 kilometers of the transpantaneira road. We will still have chances to stop along the road to photograph the wild life on the wayside.

This could include marsh deer, capybaras, herons, egrets, jabiru stork nests, caimans and many more. Lunch on the way at Mato Grasso Hotel.

We will arrive in time for our first afternoon on the river in search of Jaguars.

We’ll overnight at Hotel Pantanal Norté.

  8. Day 8 Safari

Full days staying at Porto Jofré. This will be our base for the duration of the Jaguar encounters.

We will leave first thing in the morning by boat, and search the region for the elusive spotted cats. The camp has a network of boats on the river at any given time, and they will be in touch with one another in the event of a sighting. There will be other boats around as this is peak season for Jaguars, but we have 7 days here and there’s no doubt we are in for the safari encounter of a lifetime with one of the planet’s most incredible big cats.

The Jaguars use the river to hunt during this late dry season. Their prey come down for a drink and this is what the Jaguars exploit. Our goal will be to spend just about the entire day out on the boat, apart from returning to camp for a lunch break. There are no set-schedules and we will take things as they come depending on the sightings of the day.

Other species that we will encounter are Giant Otters (largest otter in the world), Capybara (largest rodent in the world), Tapir, Cayman, Anaconda and much more.

This is what you’ve come to see, and few other safaris offer as much time in Jaguar country as this Wild Eye experience.
