All about the Sabi Sabi Wildlife Photography Workshop 2021.

Overview

This is a brand new photographic workshop designed for everyone and anyone who loves wildlife, safari and photography. The workshop is based around one single objective – to help YOU take better wildlife images. Over the duration of the workshop our aim is to cover multiple sections, establishing a deeper connection not only within your photographic ability but with wildlife as a whole. The workshop has been created in such a way, that each individual will receive equal personal attention throughout the safari. Having 2 Wild Eye Guides on site for the safari, allows for multiple opportunities to learn from and be inspired by the experts. Each vehicle will have only 3 guests in addition to a Wild Eye guide. With both Wild Eye guides running presentations on a variety of different topics can only be beneficial to your photography. The Wild Eye Wildlife Photography Workshop is based in one of the most prolific game viewing areas in Southern Africa, the Sabi Sands.

  1. Day 1 Arrival

This tour officially begins on site at Sabi Sabi Little Bush Lodge. You can arrive by flight into Skukuza Airport, Sabi Sabi’s PVT Airstrip or by road (travel not included). If arriving by air you’ll be collected & transferred to Sabi Sabi’s Little Bush Lodge (transfer included). You will be welcomed and shown around the camp. Once you have settled in, we will have lunch followed by a briefing on the safari and how the workshop will operate. We will then depart for our first afternoon safari in search of all things wild, returning to camp in the early evening for drinks and dinner.

  2. Day 2 Safari

Wake up long before sunrise to the morning chorus of birds & perhaps the roar of a lion or the rasping call from a nearby leopard. The morning starts soon after with tea & coffee as the bush and the animals within it begins to prepare for another exciting day. Morning game drive leaves shortly afterwards – still about 20 minutes prior to sunrise.

The game drive is roughly four hours long. On arrival back at camp, you are greeted by a delicious breakfast which is then followed by a photographic lecture presented by one of the Wild Eye guides. The lectures will vary from day to day and cover important topics in wildlife photography, both technical and creative. Wild Eye guides will take time to alternate daily as they present content that will add tremendous value to your photographic journey. Following up from this lecture will be lunch. After lunch you can take time to siesta or sit with one of the guides should you have some questions and more.

The afternoon safari kicks off before 4pm and will once again be roughly four hours long. The afternoon safaris will continue into the early evening and at night you can prepare for an incredible experience. We’ll enjoy photography of predators under spotlight and you’ll see active behaviour from the big cats not exhibited during daylight hours. It’s a special experience not on offer at many other safari camps.

Thereafter you will return to camp for pre dinner drinks and dinner.
